When it comes to setting up a business in the UAE, the details matter. From structuring correctly to navigating regulations, the right guidance can make all the difference. That’s exactly where Jacques Isabelle, the newest Advisor for Structuring at Global Capital Group (GCG Structuring), comes in.
With more than a decade of experience living in Dubai, a diverse professional background, and a passion for solving problems for entrepreneurs, Jacques brings both expertise and empathy to his role.
“I don’t want others to experience the same pain points I went through when I set up my own company in a cheap free zone without any help,” Jacques explains. “Now, I can guide clients through that process and make sure they get it right the first time.”

From Sport and Education to Finance and Structuring
Jacques’ career path has been anything but linear. Originally from Guernsey, he moved to London to pursue semi-professional football, competing in tournaments such as the FA Vase and FA Cup. Afterward, he transitioned into education, working in management for GEMS Education, which eventually brought him to Dubai.
“I moved here off the back of accepting a job in education,” Jacques recalls. “It was a big brand, a huge global name, and it was an incredible experience.”
That role became the gateway to a new career trajectory. Jacques entered the world of private equity and venture capital through a family office, later joining a wealth management firm, before finally stepping into his new chapter with GCG.
Meeting Peter and the Power of Padel
Jacques’ introduction to Global Capital Group was far from traditional. It began on a padel court, through Dubai’s thriving networking scene.
“I met Peter Ivantsov, Managing Partner at GCG through the Dubai Padel Network,” Jacques says. “We started off competing against each other, then began raising capital together. We realized we worked well as a team, and here we are today.”
What began as a sporting rivalry quickly grew into a professional partnership, built on trust, shared values, and a mutual commitment to helping businesses grow.

Why Structuring Matters
Though Jacques also supports GCG’s real estate investment activities, ranging from affordable housing projects in the US to ultra-prime developments in Dubai, his primary focus is structuring. For him, it’s about enabling entrepreneurs to succeed without unnecessary setbacks.
“As a Brit, I can really relate to those who are moving here,” he explains. “I can be their eyes and ears on the ground, helping them get set up properly before they move or while they’re in transition. With our team, we provide a full turnkey solution to make sure everything runs smoothly.”
That support ranges from company formation to advisory, but Jacques’ role doesn’t stop at onboarding.
“Yes, I bring in new clients, but I also make sure every client is looked after properly, professionally, and continuously,” he says. “This isn’t just about getting them started, it’s about building long-term relationships.”
Hard Work, High Energy
Coming from an education background, Jacques is no stranger to long hours and demanding work. He sees a similar culture at GCG, which was part of the appeal.
“This isn’t an easy job, it takes a lot of energy and dedication,” Jacques says. “But I’ve always been used to hard work, and I’m happy to be part of a team that shares that mentality.”
Looking Ahead
Now, Jacques is focused on leveraging his networks in Guernsey, the UK, and Dubai to bring new clients to GCG Structuring, while deepening his involvement in communities such as the Dubai Padel Network and the British Chamber of Commerce.
It’s a role that blends his international background, his resilience from sport, and his problem-solving skills honed in finance. Most of all, it’s about helping others avoid the mistakes he once made.
“I know what it feels like to set up a business the wrong way,” Jacques says. “My goal is to make sure our clients never have to go through that, and instead, that they’re set up for success from day one.”
