The UAE investor visa

Forming or investing in a UAE company creates eligibility to apply for residency as an investor or partner. The visa is a separate process from the licence, with its own documentation and its own timeline, and it depends on the company being licensed correctly first. Founders who assume residency follows automatically from incorporation are the ones most often surprised by the sequencing.

What makes someone eligible for an investor visa?

Eligibility follows from holding a qualifying stake in a licensed UAE company, whether newly formed or invested into. The route, and the number of visas available, depend on the licence type and the jurisdiction.

Eligibility is created by the structure, so we decide the structure with the visa in mind rather than after it.

The licence comes first. The visa is applied for once the company exists and is licensed, and the licence type governs what is possible. This is why we treat visa processing as part of the setup sequence rather than a later errand.

Processing can begin once the company is licensed and the establishment card is issued, not before. A clear application moves in stages: entry permit, status change or entry, medical and Emirates ID, then visa stamping.

2. We sequence so processing starts as early as the rules allow.

Nothing begins until the company is licensed and the establishment card issued. We plan backwards from that so nothing waits on a step that could have run in parallel.

3. We prepare the family with the principal.

Dependants are documented alongside the main application rather than started once yours completes.

4. We put residency ahead of the bank.

A resident signatory widens a banking application considerably, so where it makes sense we secure the visa first and apply from a stronger position.
